UPDATE: Message From The Founder

GHETTO EMPOWERMENT MINISTRIES (GEM)Inc.
                                                               …unveiling hidden treasures
Life is a seed. What you sow is what you eventually get out of life. Many nations are faced with myriads of problems today, ranging from civil unrest to disease epidemic and family breakdown; all because a generational vacuum was created. The older generation failed to transmit the virtues and the quality of life they enjoyed to the younger generation. Today, young people are looking for true mentors and role models to pattern their lives after, but the painful truth is that they are scarce. It is now everyone to himself and God for us all. Such was the state of the Jewish race when such generational gap was left at a time in their history. It was recorded that people did whatever they felt like doing (Judges 21:25b MSG. Anarchy per excellence! Those who enjoyed free education in their days are today making education almost  impossible for the masses. As a result, many young men and women roam our streets with no quality of life, they are nuisances both to themselves and the society. They remain unemployed and unemployable making them ready tools for all forms of vices.

You will agree with me that being born with a silver spoon is not synonymous with success in life and being born with a wooden spoon is not synonymous with failure. Success or failure is a product of self- discovery. All a man needs is an enabling  environment for his potentials and talents to thrive which is obviously lacking in our society. The vast majority of our people dwell in the ghettos and sub-urban areas with little or no social amenities; yet therein lies the greatest of our human resources. Today, many global heroes, superstars and record-breakers are living in total obscurity. They are like the proverbial plant spoken of by Jesus Christ which finds itself growing in the midst of thorns; as it grows it discovers that a limitation has been mounted against its full manifestation. Ignorance, poverty, negativism, poor health, bad orientation among others, are potential thorns that can choke a man's destiny.

NEWS UPDATE: GHETTO EMPOWERMENT MINISTRIES (GEM)Inc.

GHETTO EMPOWERMENT MINISTRIES (GEM)Inc.
                                                               …unveiling hidden treasures
Beloved,
Calvary greetings in the Name of our Lord. May His grace be multiplied unto you all. Suffice it to say that the Lord has promised great things concerning us this season.
This therefore calls for our unreserved loyalty and commitment to this urgent and all important assignment of soul winning.
Before I proceed, I will like to remind us once again that our mission is to go into everyplace, especially the ghettos, with the mandate and message of total (spirit, soul and body) empowerment to those who have been incarcerated by the devil. Looking around us we see a lot of mess caused by the devil, via individuals (especially the young) who are leading lives devoid of purpose and vision. It is indeed a great privilege to be used of God in bringing salvation (total empowerment) to such lost ones and we must not take it for granted.
With respect to our last meeting in Kaduna, God’s Spirit has instructed me to shelved the Programme to plan.
In line with this:

  1. All Area Programme Coordinators are to swing into action immediately in search of opportunities.
  2. Our mission and vision statements should be made available to responsible ministers in such areas.

  1. Meetings and prayers should be held at least bimonthly or more frequently (as the need arises) to strategize towards our programmes.
  2. Members should be adequately communicated about upcoming meetings. Those who fail to attend should be contacted by the PRO to inquire and be communicated the proceedings of the meeting.
  3. Attendance at meetings is compulsory for all members, except if there is a genuine excuse to be absent, which must be communicated before time to any member of the central executive.
  4. Phone numbers and other contacts of members (both in Zaria and Kaduna ) should be made available by the secretary to the PRO for enhanced communication.
  5. All effort must be put in place to reach out to our new members.
  6. Our meetings should be geared towards better successes in our programmed.
  7. Both centres ( Kaduna and Zaria ) must communicate to each other the proceedings of their meetings to enhance harmony.
  8. Our passion and commitment should leave no one in doubt that we truly have a calling.
Yours in His Service,

  Abi Innocent
 (Vision-bearer/President)
